Surrey International Writers’ Conference 2016
Got back last night. Fantastic this year! It was good to see everyone, and the sessions were helpful. My Blue Pencil with Diana Gabaldon was spectacular. She critiqued Chapter 1 from Iron Broderick. Her words: “Tom, this is really good. Professional Quality.” Boo-YA, y’all!
Book Review: Running with the Pack
Edited by Ekaterina Sedia I picked this collection of werewolf short stories up at a used bookstore for $7.50. What a steal. NASA’s Old
My wife and I, along with some friends, took of a tour of the Houston Space Center. I was not impressed. NASA is supposed to be America's pinnacle of technological achievement, and the campus looked like something from an old Cold War movie about the Soviet Space Program. The buildings looked old and decrepit, the … Continue reading NASA’s Old
Men, We Can’t Repel Emotions of that Magnitude!
A writer has a singular responsibility . . . to elicit an emotional response from a reader with words only . . . and not at the writing, but because of what the writer is saying.
